Amir Amiri founded 120 Degreez MEP Engineering in 2013 with one simple goal in mind: to help clients scale with economic efficiency and well-designed project viability.
He leads the team with nearly two decades of experience as a professional electrical engineer. His broad portfolio of clients spans the public and private sectors, including a seven-year tenure as head of San Diego’s electrical department.
After completing his degree and a supplementary HVAC systems design program, he was disappointed by the limits of traditional engineering methods. While other MEP engineers limited their work to basic building codes, Amir refused to apply his knowledge in simple, broad strokes.
Instead, he launched 120 Degreez with a revolutionary, tech-focused approach. Developers, engineers, architects, contractors, utility companies, and local governments should work together to achieve shared goals. Amir dreamed of building a collaborative team that would erase the old, adversarial role of MEP design and regulatory compliance.
Amir is still deeply grounded in his work as an electrical engineer in addition to his leadership duties as CEO. Driven by his invaluable relationships, expertise, and creative courage, 120 Degreez helps clients overcome design demands and meet the needs of tomorrow.
Every MEP engineering branch is fully staffed with expert team members who have specialized experience and years of advanced education. Together, we deliver custom-built solutions and advanced building science to overcome traditional design challenges.
Every high-performance project pushes our team to keep learning, innovating, and collaborating. Mark Ptashkin joined 120 Degreez in 2015 as our principal electrical lead. Earlier in his career, he designed electrical engineering systems and inspection for major companies across Arizona.
Mark’s specialized experience spans 30 years and covers every aspect of building project management with more than a dozen specialized industries.
Deependra Yadav obtained a Master’s in mechanical engineering and has published work in numerous scientific journals. He launched his career in his native country of Nepal where he worked as a mechanical HVAC and plumbing engineer. Deependra’s adept problem-solving skills are invaluable as our principle mechanical and plumbing engineer.
We look forward to building a long-term relationship and discussing the details of your unique project.
